Towner Eastbourne is a gallery that sits down the road from our studio. It has been collecting and exhibiting contemporary art for almost 100 years.
Collectively Podcast, Digital Assets
Collectively is a new Towner podcast exploring themes of the body, landscape and queer narratives in the Towner Collection.
Towner tasked us with creating a sub-brand for their Collectively Podcast. For the logo we experimented with the concept of sound-waves, whilst using the Towner's fonts and colours to create brand consistency. The additional frame motif represents the different points of view being addressed in the podcast.
The sub-brand will be applied to multiple platforms including social media, audio platforms and Towner's website; so creating a strong design that would be identifiable throughout was important.
In light of Towner’s new branding we were approached to design the new folder to hold membership cards and welcome pack. We decided to make it A5 so it could also be used to hold other printed publications.
The concept behind the folder was to create an impact once opened, to do so we flood printed the folder with the Towner's distinctive brand blue, Pantone 072. We worked with Tansleys Printers, Seaford to achieve the high quality print. We believe it is important to use local businesses and services within our work.
The stock used for the membership folder is Mohawk Loop - Snow. Made from 100% de-inked waste. It is FSC certified, carbon neutral and produced by wind power. It is important to the Towner and us that design decisions are carefully considered and environmentally conscious.
Whilst the Towner is going through major refurbishment , they wanted to create a clear, friendly message to the public that the gallery was still open.
We worked with a local printer to create a bright, informative A-Board.
Wriggle Room is a year-long residency developed for under-5s and their carers.Activities and workshops will be built on a collaborative approach with participants and partners, artist practice, community and connection to the natural environments around Eastbourne and East Sussex and ways of engaging with Towner Eastbourne’s collection and exhibition programme.
We designed an indent that portrayed movement and playfulness, the letters wriggle and scatter around the frame, coming together to form the logo.
